When the cubes are joined together, we get a cuboid.
Side of cube = 2.5cm
⇒ Length of cuboid = 2.5 + 2.5 + 2.5
l = 7.5cm
Breadth of the cuboid = b = 2.5cm
Height of the cubiod = h = 2.5cm
Surface area of cuboid = 2[lb+bh+hl]
= 2 [ (7.5 × 2.5) + (2.5 × 2.5) + (2.5 × 7.5)]
= 2 [ 18.75 + 6.25 + 18.75]
= 2 (43.75)
= 87.5cm²
∴ Surface area of the resulting solid = 87.5 cm²
∴ The option is B)87.5 cm².
