resulting solid is a cuboid
therefore l×b×h=15×5×5
tsa of cuboid= 2(lb+bh+hl)
2(15×5+5×5+5×15)
2(75+25+75)
2×175=350

SOLUTION :

Given :

each side of three similar cube edge is 5cm.

According to the question,

Three cubes are joined end to end

So,

The new resulting solid will be a cuboid

So,

Its new dimensions will be

length (l) = 5+5+5 = 15 cm

breadth (b) = 5 cm

height (h) = 5 cm

Now,

To be found

the Total Surface Area of the cuboid (new solid)

As we know,

The TSA of cuboid is 2(lb + bh +hl) units

= 2(15 × 5 + 5 × 5 + 5 × 15)

= 2(75 + 25 + 75)

= 2(175)

= 350

Hence,

∴ The Total Surface Area of the new solid (cuboid) is 350 cm.
