Given,

Three cubes each of side 6 cm joined side by side.

To Find,

The volume and surface area of a cuboid.

Solution,

Since the three cubes are joined side by side so the dimensions of the cuboid formed is

length = 18 cm, breadth = 6cm and height = 6cm.

Now, the volume of cuboid is

Volume = l*b*h

             = 18*6*6

             = 648 cm cube.

Surface area = 2(l*b + b*h + h*l)

                      = 2(18*6+6*6+6*18)

                      = 504 cm sq.

Hence, the volume of cuboid formed is 648 cm cube and surface area of the cuboid formed is 504 cm sq.
