Answer:

Edge of new cube = 12 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given---> Edges of three cubes are 6cm, 8cm, 10cm repectively .

To find ---> Edge of new cube formed by melting three old cubes .

Solution --->

ATQ,

Edge of first cube = 6cm

Edge of second cube = 8cm

Edge of third cube = 10cm

We know that ,volume of cube = edge³

Volume of first cube = ( 6 )³

= 216 cm³

Volume of second cube = ( 8 )³

= 512 cm³

Volume of third cube = ( 10 )³

= 1000 cm³

Let edge of new cube formed by melting of old cubes be a .

Volume of new cube = a³

New cube is formed by melting three old cubes so volume of new cube is equal to sum of three old cubes. So

Volume of new cube = Sum of three old cubes

=> a³ = 216 + 512 + 1000

=> a³ = 1728

=> a³ = (12)³

=> a = 12 cm

So edge of new cube = 12 cm
