Galvanisation:
- It is the process of dipping clean iron sheets into molten zinc so that a layer of zinc if formed on iron, which will prevent it from rusting.
- It is used to prevent rusting of iron.
- Galvanised iron is used to make pipes.
Alloying:
- It the process of combining more than 2 metals, or a metal or a non-metal or more than a metal and non-metals in their molten forms to combine the properties of different metals.
- It can be used to prevent any metal from rusting. Not only that, it can be used to combine properties of metals and achieve lower melting points and higher resistance to electricity etc.
- Alloys of metals are used to make various things. For example, strings of instruments are mode from brass, statues from bronze, aeroplanes from aluminium alloys, wrist watches from stainless steel etc.
