Three different electrolytic cells A, B and C are connected
in separate circuits. Electrolytic cell A contains sodium
chloride solution. When the circuit is completed, a bulb
in the circuit glows brightly. Electrolytic cell B contains
acetic acid solution and in this case, the bulb in the
circuit glows dimly. The electrolytic cell C contains
sugar solution and the bulb does not glow in this case,
Give a reason for each of these observations.

Explanation:

Electrolytic cells are the cells or batteries which use the chemical potential of a chemical to react with another to bring about a difference in the potential, which is enough to complete a circuit when connected via a wire.

If the bulb is connected, it will glow.

It depends on the ionizing potential of the solution used in the cell.

Sodium chloride being high creates a high potential difference.

Acetic acid being less ionizing creates a bit less. So, bulb glows slightly low. Sugar being non-ionic creates no potential difference.
