Answer:

5/9 = 0.5556

Step-by-step explanation:

Total no. of outcome ( 3 digits no. )

As we have 4 digits number of 3 digit number can be formed are as follows

=> 3 × 3 ×2

=> 18 numbers

Note

  • In 1st place we cannot consider 0 hence other three can be placed.
  • In 1st place we cannot consider 0 hence other three can be placed.in 2nd place except the one placed in the 1st place any other three can be placed
  • In 1st place we cannot consider 0 hence other three can be placed.in 2nd place except the one placed in the 1st place any other three can be placed in the 3rd place except the two which are placed in 1st and 2nd other 2 can be placed.

No. of favourable outcome ( divisible by 5 )

1st case 0 is placed in the end

=> 3 × 2 × 1

=> 6 numbers

2nd case 5 is placed in the last

=> 2 × 2 × 1

=> 4 numbers

Total = 6 + 4 = 10

Probability = favourable outcome / Total outcome

Probability = 10 / 18

Probability = 5/9 = 0.5556
