Let employees be x and interns be y

In the first case three employees and four intern did the work in 8 days then equation for this case will be 3x+4y=8

In the later case same work took 81/3=27days by four employees and three interns so equation for this case will be 4x+3y=27

On solving both the equation and multiplying first equation by 3 and second by 4

We get 9x+12y=24

- 16x+12y=108

To elimante y

This will give - 7x=-84

X=12

By puting x value in first equation we get y=-7

Thus for the case when two employees and one intern the equation will be

2x+y=2(12)+(-7)=24-7=17days

Ans:-17
