SOLUTION

GIVEN

Three forces act on a body.

Two of them are

 7 \hat{i} - 13\hat{j} \:  \: and \:  \:2 \hat{i} - 11\hat{j}

TO DETERMINE

The value of the other force

EVALUATION

Here it is given that three forces act on a body.

Two of them are

 7 \hat{i} - 13\hat{j} \:  \: and \:  \:2 \hat{i} - 11\hat{j}

Sum of the two forces

 = ( 7 \hat{i} - 13\hat{j} ) + (2 \hat{i} - 11\hat{j} )

 =  9 \hat{i} - 24\hat{j}

Now to keep the body in equilibrium

Sum of the three forces must be zero

Hence the required other force

 = \hat{0} - (  9 \hat{i} - 24\hat{j} )

 = - (  9 \hat{i} - 24\hat{j} )
