Given : three-fourth of jimm's estate is valued at 40% more than two-third the value of  jhon's estate.

 the value of jhons estate is increased by 20% and jim's esate value depreciates by 10% ,

To Find :  by how much % will jim''s estate be woth more or less than jhons estate

Solution:

Let say john  estate. value =  x

Jimm  = y

(2/3)x + (40/100)(2/3)x  =  (3/4)y

=> (2/3)x (1.4)  = (3/4)y

=> 8x(1.4) = 9y

=> 11.2x  = 9y

=>

jhons estate is increased by 20%

=> x + (20/100) = 1.2x

jim's esate value depreciates by 10% ,

=> y - (10/100)y = 0.9y

=> 9y/10

= 11.2x/10

= 1.12x

jhons estate = 1.2x

jim's esate = 1.12 x

 jim's esate  less than jhons estate  = 1.2x - 1.12x = 0.08x

in % = ( 0.08x/ 1.2x) * 100 = 6.67 %

jim''s estate be worth 6.67 % less than jhons estate
