Therefore the capacity of the tank will be 128 liters.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given three fourth of a tank is filled with water. 50% of water is removed from the tank and 60 liter of pure milk is added to it . Now the ratio of milk and water in the tank becomes 5:4

Let the capacity of the the tank be x.

Therefore the amount of water in the tank= \frac{3}{4} \times x \times \frac{50}{100}

                                                                      =\frac{3}{8} x

According to the problem,

\frac{60}{\frac{3}{8} x} =\frac{5}{4}

\Leftrightarrow \frac{3}{8} x= \frac{4}{5} \times 60

\Leftrightarrow x= \frac{4}{5}\times 60 \times \frac{8}{3}

\Leftrightarrow x =128

Therefore the capacity of the tank will be 128 liters.

capacity (in litres) of the tank will be 128 Litres

Step-by-step explanation:

Capacity of Tank  = 8T   Litre

Three-fourth part of a tank is filled with water

=> water = (3/4)8T = 6T

50% water = (50/100)6T = 3T  water removed

Remaining water = 6T - 3T = 3T

Pure Milk is added = 60 Litre

milk : water = 5 : 4

=> 60 : 3T  = 5 : 4

=> 20/T = 5/4

=> T = 16

8T = 128

capacity (in litres) of the tank will be 128 Litres
