vijay = 3

total apples = 8

now apples are to be divided equally among three

so 8/3 = 2 per each and two apples remains

these two apples will be added later on

so each get 2 apples

2 apples =8 rs

1 apple = 8/2 = 4 rs

now we need to buy a dozen (12)

but we have two remaining apples, which we will use here

.: 12-2 =10 apples we need to buy

so cost of 10 apples = 10×4 = 40rs
