The three historical facts are:

1. Out of all the mines present in the Barberton town of South Africa, these four mines: Agnes, New Consort, Sheba, and Fairview, collectively called Barberton mines are mined even today.

2. Here, the first traces of alluvial gold were found( way back in 1874) and since then people kept mining here for gold.

3. The eco-friendly process of retrieving gold from the sulfide that is found surrounding the gold ore, known as BIOX( Biological oxidation) originated here.
