total number of cars = 55 if 300 passengers are travelling in white, silver and black cars; each of these cars is carrying 6, 5 and 3 passengers, respectively

Step-by-step explanation:

number of white and silver cars is equal and there is only one black car

White Cars  = C

Silver Cars  = C

Black Car = 1

Total Cars = C + C + 1 = 2C + 1

Number of passengers = 6C  + 5C  + 3

= 11C + 3

11C + 3 = 300

=> 11C = 297

=> C = 27

Total Cars = 2C + 1 = 2*27  + 1  = 55

total number of cars = 55
