Given:

 \huge \bf \boxed{ATQ}

3 identical cubes of side 4cm are joined end to end.

_______________________________

now it's a cuboid since cube has all it's edges equal.

 \bf \underline{length \:  of \:  the \:  cuboid}

= 4 + 4 + 4 = 12cm

 \bf \underline{breadth \:  of \:  the  \: cuboid}

= 4cm

 \bf \underline{height \:  of \:  the \:  cuboid}

= 4cm

formula to find the total surface area of a cuboid is 2(lb + bh + lh)

= 2 [ (12 × 4) + (4 × 4) + (12 × 4) ]

= 2 ( 48 + 16 + 48 )

= 2 × 112

= 224cm²

______________________

hence, the total surface area of the cuboid is 224cm².
