Three identical towels of red, blue and green in colour are hanging on a clothes line in the sun. What will be the colour of the shadows of these towels?

Shadow of an object does not change on changing its colour. Shadow will always show the absence of light at that place. So, the colour of shadow will remain same in all the cases. Thus, the shadows of all the towels are black in colour.

The colour of their shadow would be black irrespective of the colour of the object, as shadows are formed  due to an opaque object blocking the path of light. Therefore the region where a shadow is formed does not  receive any light. It only gives the outline and not the details of the object.
