Three incandescent bulbs of 100 W each are connected in series in an electric circuit. In another set, three bulbs of the same voltage are connected in parallel to the same source.
(i) Will the bulbs in the two circuits glow with the same brightness? Justify your answer.
(ii) Now let one bulb in both the circuits get fused. Will the rest of the bulbs continue to glow in each circuit? Give reasons.

Answer:

i) in series first bulb will be bright and the rest will be dimmer as u go along

in parallel all bulbs will be equally bright as current is distributed equally

ii)in series all bulbs will stop working as circuit will break

in parallel the other 2 bulbs will continue to function as their circuit is                  complete

Answer:

(I) no the bulbs in the two circuit s Will not glow with the same brightness. In series it will glow as dim because these bulb get unequal power supply and in parallel it will glow brighter because they get same voltage and power.

(ii) No in series connection the rest of the bulb will not glow because the current is supplied in a linear line and the other bulbs will fuse off.In parallel connection the rest of the bulb will continue to glow because there is current supply to each of the bulbs.
