there are 3 main laws in Mendels experiment

  1. LAW OF DOMINANCE :when two homozygous ( same kind of plant)  individuals with one or more set of contrasting characteristics are crossed the characters that appear in the F1 generation  are dominant characters.
  2. LAW OF SEGREGATION: contrasting characters brought together in a hybrid remain together without being affected and when gametes are formed from the hybrid  the two separate out from each other and only one enters the gamete
  3. LAW OF INDEPENDENT ASSORTMENT: in inheritance of more than one pair of contrasting characters instantaneously the factors for each pair of characters assort independently of other pairs
