: Three liquids are given to you. One is hydrochloric acid, another is sodium
hydroxide and third is a sugar solution. How will you identify them? You have
only turmeric indicator.

Explanation:

•If we put turmeric indicator on hydrochloric acid then it will change colour into blue.

•If we put turmeric indicator on hydroxide then it will change colour into red.

•If we put turmeric indicator on sugar solution then there will be no change as sugar solution is nuetral.

Here is your answer....

As we know Hydrochloric acid is acidic in nature , sodium hydroxide is basic and sugar solution is neutral .

First we will take the turmeric indicator and put it in one of the liquid solutions given to you .

If the turmeric indicator changes its colour to red then that liquid solution is basic in nature.

Now we have red turmeric indicator with us .

Now we will dip the it in another solution now if it changes it colour to form it's original colour yellow then the liquid solution is acidic .And now the last solution left with us do not changes it colour so it is neutral solution.
