The three men in the boat is full of great humour. The humour is woven in the language and the funny incidents that occur to Harris, George and J, narrator himself. The plot is small. The three men have a small boat journey. The random anecdotes and funny incidents make it classical . One - after another incidents are rib- tickling. Whether it may be packing , making Irish Stew, taking water , punting, visiting the inn having trout in glass case , meeting of Tom the cat and all Montmorency all have classical humour that defies description. The humour is bit ironical and many - many funny situations occurred and also is a sweet criticism. It is a light satire of its own kind. No ne can help laughing at the accomodation caused by the young lady' s fox tier or when the punt boy hangs on his pole like a monkey. The novel, is thus a comedy classic of it's own kind.
