Three masses of 5 kg, 3 kg and 2 kg are placed on
a smooth horizontal surface as shown in figure.
When a force of 100 N is applied on it then. Find
1. acceleration
2. T1 and T2​

Masses of block = 5kg,3kg,2kg

Force = 100N

TO FIND ACCELERATION.

Total mass of block = 5 + 3 + 2 = 10kg

F = 100N

F = MA

A = F/M

A = 100/10

A = 10 m/s^2

TO FIND TENSION ON STRING.

THAT IS T1 AND T2.

First we can draw F. B. D of bolck

  • CASE 1.

Draw F. B. D of block 5kg

we get,

T2 = 5a

put the value of acceleration

T2 = 5 X 10

T2 = 50N

  • CASE 2.

Draw F. B. D of block 2kg

we get,

F - T1 = 2a

100 - T1 = 2 X 10

100 - T1 = 20

T1 = 80N

Therefore,

  • ACCELERATION = 10 M/S^2
  • TENSION [T1] = 80N
  • TENSION [T2] = 50N
