Solutions :-

Given :
Three men A, B and C can complete a job in 8, 12 and 16 days respectively.

(A + B + C)'s one day work = 1/8 + 1/12 + 1/16
= (6 + 4 + 3)/48
= 13/48

(A + B)'s one day work = 1/8 + 1/12
= (3 + 2)/24
= 5/24

(A + B)' three days work = (5× 3)/24
= 15/24

Remaining work = 1 - 15/24
= (24 - 15)/24
= 9/24

(A + C)'s one day work = 1/8 + 1/16
= (2 + 1)/16
= 3/16

3/16 work completed in 1 day
1 work completed in 16/3
9/24 work completed in 16/3 × 9/24 = 2 days.

Hence,
A and C completed the work in 2 days.

Answer:

2 Days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Three men A, B and C can complete a job in 8, 12 and 16 days respectively.

(A + B + C)'s one day work = 1/8 + 1/12 + 1/16

= (6 + 4 + 3)/48

= 13/48

(A + B)'s one day work = 1/8 + 1/12

= (3 + 2)/24

= 5/24

(A + B)' three days work = (5× 3)/24

= 15/24

Remaining work = 1 - 15/24

= (24 - 15)/24

= 9/24

(A + C)'s one day work = 1/8 + 1/16

= (2 + 1)/16

= 3/16

3/16 work completed in 1 day

1 work completed in 16/3

9/24 work completed in 16/3 × 9/24 = 2 days.

Hence,

A and C completed the work in 2 days.
