volume of cube 1 (of side 1 cm) = a³ = (1)³ = 1 cm³
volume of cube 2 (of side 6cm) = a³ = (6)³ = 216 cm³
volume of cube 3 (of side 8 cm) = a³ = (8)³ = 512 cm³
therefore , volume of new cube formed would be = volume of cube 1 + volume of cube 2+volume of cube 3
=> (edge of new cube)³ = 1+216+512 = 729 cm³
=> edge of new cube = ³√729 cm³
=> edge of new cube = 9 cm
