As given process expanded isothermally means at constant temperature  

ΔT = constant  

We known that the internal energy of gases depend on the temperature as we increases the temperature the kinetic energy of molecules increases that increases the internal energy of molecules.

Therefore, the internal energy of gases also remained constant at constant temperature  

So for given isothermal process  

ΔE = 0
