Three non zero numbers m, n, p will be I'm continued proportion if n² = m * p.

If a, b, c are in continued proportion then a : b : :b : c.
Applying the rule product of means = Product of extremes, We get b² = ac

The same condition applies here.

so, three non-zero number m,n,p will be in continued propeortion , if n² = m * p
