The correct answer is option (1) 12

Given:

A, B, C are three numbers

A = 2B = 3C

Average of 3 numbers = 23

To find:

The value of C

Solution:

Given A = 2B = 3C

⇒ A = 3C

⇒ 2B = 3C  ⇒ B = 1.5C

The given 3 numbers in terms of C are 3C, 3C/2 and C

Average of 3 number = Sum of 3 numbers/3

⇒ Sum of 3 numbers = 3C+1.5C+ C = 5.5C

Average of 3 numbers = 5.5C/3

From given data, \frac{5.5C}{3} = 23

⇒ 5.5C = 69

⇒ C = 12.544

The value of C = 12.54

Therefore, the correct answer is option (1) 12
