It can be written as,

( 2x )^3 + ( 3x )^3 + ( 4x )^3 = 792

x^3 is the common term so it can be taken out,

x^3 ( 8 + 27 + 64 ) =792

99 x^3 = 792

x^3 = 792 / 99

x^3 = 8

x = cube root of 8

x = 2

2x = 2*2 = 4

3x = 3*2 = 6

4x = 4*2 = 8

so the numbers are 4, 6 and 8

average of the three numbers = 4 + 6 + 8 / 3

average = 18 / 3 = 6
