Hi ,
It is given that ,
Ratio of three numbers = 2 : y : 5
Let first number = 2a
Second number = ay
Third number = 5a
According to the problem given ,
5a = 2a + 21
5a - 2a = 21
3a = 21
a = 21/3
a = 7 ---( 1 )
Sum of the three numbers = 70
2a + ay + 5a = 70
7a + ay = 70
7 × 7 + 7y = 70 [ from ( 1 ) ]
49 + 7y = 70
7y = 70 - 49
7y = 21
y = 21/7
y = 3 ,
Therefore ,
Required numbers are ,
First number = 2a = 2×7 = 14
Second number = ay = 7× 3 = 21
Third number = 5a = 5 × 7 = 35
I hope this helps you.
