Three numbers are in the ratio 3:4:5. If the sum of their cubes is 27000,then find the numbers.

When you are solving such questions then your first step should always be assuming the ratios as the numbers by multiplying each of them with a variable.


Here,

Ratio of three numbers = 3 : 4 : 5

Let the numbers be 3x , 4x and 5x.

Their cubes = (3x)^3, (4x)^3 and (5x)^3 = 27x^3, 64x^3 and 125x^3


According to the question,

27x^3 + 64x^3 + 125x^3 = 27000

216x^3 = 27000

x^3 = 27000/216

x^3 = 125

x = ∛125

x = 5


Hence,

The numbers are as follows:

1. 3x = 3*5 = 15

2. 4x = 4*5 = 20

3. 5x = 5*5 = 25
