Three particles P. Qand Rare thrown from the top of tower with the same speed. P thrown upwards, Q horizontally and R at some angle from horizontal
They hit the ground with speed Vp, Vo and vp respectively, then (neglect air friction)
Vp=Vq=Vr
Vp<Vq>Vr
Vp<Vr<Vq
Vp>Vq>Vr

Given:

Three particles P. Qand Rare thrown from the top of tower with the same speed. P thrown upwards, Q horizontally and R at some angle from horizontal

They hit the ground with speed Vp, Vo and vp respectively

To find:

Then which option is correct?

Solution:

From given, we have,

The particle P is thrown from the top of the tower, but upwards.

The particle Q is thrown from the top of the tower, but horizontally.

The particle R is thrown from the top of the tower, but at some angle.

t{P} > t{R} > t{Q}

Speed = distance / time

speed ∝ 1/time

speed and the time are inversely proportional to each other.

As the question is all about the speed of the particles thrown upwards, horizontally and at some angle, their speed will be, Vp < Vr < Vq.

Therefore, the option Vp < Vr < Vq is correct.
