Three partners P, Q and R invest in a business such that Pinvests 1/3rd of the
total and Q invests the equal to the sum invested by P and R. If the total profit is
Rs.1860, then they get the profit in the ratio:

Given P= x/3

and P+R=Q..........(1)

But, R+Q= Total - p's investment

= x-x/3

= 2x/3..........(2)

since, R= 2x/3 - Q

From (1),

P+2x/3-Q= Q

or, Q=x/2

R= x-(x/3+x/2)

= x/6

P:Q:R= x/3 : x/2: x/6

= 2 : 3 : 1
