Three paths pass through a park as shown in. How much would it cost to pave the paths with tiles if paving a square metre costs 50?

Find the total are of the paths,

Area of the vertical path = 3×70 = 210m²

Area of 2 horizontal paths = 2×3×45 = 270m²

Overlapping areas = (3×3)+(3×2=3) = 9+9 = 18m²

Total area of paths = 210+270-18 = 462m²
