→ LCM of 8, 12 and 16 = 48 units = Let total work .
so,
→ Efficiency of John = Total work / time taken = 48/8 = 6 units / day .
→ Efficiency of David = Total work / time taken = 48/12 = 4 units / day .
→ Efficiency of Robert = Total work / time taken = 48/16 = 3 units / day .
then,
→ In first 2 days John did = 2 * 6 = 12 units of work .
→ In next 3 days David did = 3 * 4 = 12 units of work .
So,
→ Left work to be done by Robert now = 48 - (12 + 12) = 24 units .
therefore,
→ Share of John : David : Robert = 12 : 12 : 24 = 1 : 1 : 2 .
hence,
→ wages of John = 3000 * (1/4) = Rs.750 (Ans.)
