Three pipes A, B and C. A and B are inlet pipes and C is outlet pipe. Pipe A alone fill the tank in 20hours and the efficiency of pipe A is 75% of the efficiency of pipe B and the efficiency of pipe B is double of pipe C. If all the pipes are opened simultaneously, then in how many hours the tank will be completely filled?

Answer:

12 hours.

Step-by-step explanation:

Efficiency of A/Efficiency of B = 75/100 = 3/4

Efficiency of C/Efficiency of B = 50/100 = 2/4

So,

Efficiency of A= 3 L/h

B= 4 L/h

C= 2/h (Outlet)

A+B-C= 3+4-2 = 5

Capacity of tank=20*3 = 60L

So Tank will be completely filled in 60/5 = 12 Hours.
