Answer:

The correct answer to this question is 2.12 × 10^{-9} J

Explanation:

Given - Three plates a,b, and c each of area 50cm2 has a separation of 3 mm between a and b and 3mm between b and c.

To Find - Write the energy stored when the plates are fully charged.

The potential difference between A and B is  12V.

The potential difference between B and C is also 12V.

Now, according to the question,

C = ϵ_{0}A/d

= 8.85 × 10^{-12} × ( 50 × 10^{-4}) / 3 × 10^{-3}

=  1.475 × 10^{-11}

U_{AB} =  U_{BC}  = \frac{CV^{2}}{2}

= 1.475 × 10^{-11} × 12^{2} / 2

= 1.06 × 10^{-9}

The total energy stored IS,

2 × 1.06 × 10^{-9}

= 2.12 × 10^{-9} J
