.because heterotrops not have chlorophyll that's why heterotrops are not able to make food. they depends upon the autotrophs directly to eat it's it part. they depends indirectly because many animals are carnivorous and omnivores that these animal eat ohert animal and these animal eat plants .only plants are autotrophic
