Three rays of light red(R) ,green(G) and blue(B) are incident on the surface of a right angled prism normally on its perpendicular.The refractive indices for the material of tha prism for red,green and blue are 1.39,1.43,1.47 respectively.Trace the path of the rays through the prism.How will the situation change if the rays were falling normally on one of the faces of an equilateral prism?

nr=1.39
ng=1.44
nb=1.47

when the three light rays say red, green and blue are made to incident on face ab of prism, then no refraction occurs at face ab.

out of three rays red ray will emerge out where as blue and green undergoes total internal reflection.

Reason:As red colour has maximum wavelength,

hence n for red is minimum.And critical angle for red is maximum hence except red colour , blue and green will incident at face AC more than critical angl
