No matter which 2 corners you choose, you have a 4 ohm resistor in parallel with two 4 ohm resistors in series. Two 4 ohm resistors in series is the sum of their resistance, so you have a parallel resistance circuit with one leg of 4 ohms and one leg of 8 ohms.
Since there are effectively only 2 resistances, you can use the formula R1xR2/R1+R2, or 4x8/4+8, or 32/12 = 2 2/3 ohms
