Given :

Three resistance each of 5Ω are connected in a circuit.

To find :

Maximum equivalent resistance due to their combination obtained

Solution :

We can obtain maximum resistance, when resistors are connected in series combination.

\bigstar The combined resistance of any number of resistances connected in series is equal to the sum of the individual resistances. .i.e.,

➠ R = R₁ + R₂ + R₃

➠ R = 5 + 5 + 5

➠ R = 15Ω

thus, maximum equivalent resistance due to their combination obtained is 15Ω

Hence, option (c) 15 ohms is correct.

Remember !

SI unit of resistance is ohms (Ω).
