Given:-

  • Three resistance of 15 ohm , 20 ohm and 10 ohm are connected in series combination.

To Find:-

  • Equivalent Resistance

Formula used:-

  • R' = R_1+R_2+R_3

Solution:-

As Given,

  • R_1=15 \:ohm
  • R_2= 20\:ohm
  • R_3=10\:ohm

Putting the value in the formula,

R' = R_1+R_2+R_3

R' = (15+20+10)\:ohm

R' = 45\:ohm

Hence, the Equivalent Resistance is 45 ohm.

More To Know:-

  • Series Combination:- When two or more resistors are connected end to end, then they are said to be connected in series.

  • Parallel Combination:- When two or more register are connected simultaneously between two points, then they form a parallel combination.

Total resistance in parallel is Rp

So (1/Rp) = (1/20)+(1/20)+(1/30)

=(1/10)+(1/30)=(4/30)=(2/15)

Hence Rp=15/2

Since total impedance is 10.

Hence 10 = Rp+RS

Where Rs is series resistance.

Rs= 10-(15/2) = 5/2 = 2.5ohm
