Three resistances 5 ohm,5ohm and 6 ohm are
connected as shown in figure. If the
point S divides the resistance 6 ohm into
two equal halves, the resistance
between points P and S is?​

The equivalent circuit diagram of the given network is as shown in the figure ↑

The resistance of upper arm between P and S :

= 5Ω + 3Ω = 8

The resistance of lower arm between P and S :

= 5Ω + 3Ω = 8

The equivalent resistance between P and S :

 =  \frac{8Ω  \: \times  \: 8Ω}{8Ω \:  +  \: 8Ω}

= 4Ω
