When connected in parallel total resistance is;

(R1 *R2)/(R1+R2)=8 ———————-(2)

R1*R2/50=8

R1*R2=400 ———————-(3)

(R1+R2)^2 -( R1-R2)^2=4R1*R2

(50*50)-(R1-R2)^2=4*400

2500-(R1-R2)^2=1600

(R1-R2)^2=2500–1600

(R1-R2)^2=900

(R1-R2)=30 —————————-(4)

Adding eq.(1) and (4)

2R1=80

R1=40 Ohms

R2=10 Ohms
