a) Current through each resistor:

For parallel combination of resistor, potential difference across each resistor is same.

Current through 10 Ω resistor is,

V = IR

V= 9V

R =10 Ω

Thus, I1 = 9/10 = 0.9 A

Current through 20 Ω resistor,

I2 = 9/20 = 0.45 A

Current through 30 Ω resistor is,

I3 = 9/30 = 0.3 A

b) Total current in the circuit is,

I = I1+ I2 + I3 = 0.9 + 0.3 + 0.45 = 1.65 A

Thus, total current flowing through the circuit is 1.65 A.

c) Effective resistance:

The resistors are connected in parallel,

Thus,

1 over R subscript p equals 1 over 10 plus 1 over 20 plus 1 over 30

fraction numerator begin display style 1 end style over denominator begin display style R subscript p end style end fraction space equals space 11 over 60

T h u s comma

R subscript p space equals space 5.45 space capital omega

Thus, the effective resistance of the circuit is 5.45 Ω
