Question :-

Three resistors 2 ohm , 4 ohm and 5 ohm are combined in parallel. What is the total resistance of the combination.

please please solve it step by step.

Solution

Given :-

Three resistors are 2 ohm , 4 ohms and 5 ohms

They are connect in parallel

Find :-

Total resistance of the combination

Explanation

We know,

If resistor are connected in parallel ,

Then, Total resistance will be ,

★ 1/R = 1/r' + 1/r" + 1/r"'

Where,

R = Total resistance

r' = 2 ohms

r" = 4 ohms

r"' = 5 ohms

Keep all above values

➡ 1/R = 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/5

Take L.C.M of 2 , 4 & 5

So, here 20 be the L.C.M.

Then, Now calculate

➡ 1/R = (10+5+4)/20

➡ 1/R = 19/20

Or,

➡ R = 20/19 ohms

Or,

➡ R = 1.07 ohm

Hence

Total resistance will be of combination = 20/19 (1.07)ohms

Answer:

Explanation:

1/Rp=1/R1+1/R2+1/R3

1/Rp=1/2+1/4+1/5=10+5+4/20=19/20=0.95

1/0.95=1.05 ohm
