Answer :

Three resistors of 3Ω, 6Ω and 9Ω are connected in parallel with a battery of voltage 220V.

★ Total resistance of the circuit :

➝ 1/R = 1/R₁ + 1/R₂ + 1/R₃

➝ 1/R = 1/3 + 1/6 + 1/9

➝ 1/R = (6+3+2)/18

R = 18/11 Ω

We know that, potential difference across each resistor in parallel connection remains same.

★ Current flow in 3Ω resistor :

➠ V = I₁ × R₁

➠ 220 = I₁ × 3

I₁ = 73.33A

★ Current flow in 6Ω resistor :

➠ V = I₂ × R₂

➠ 220 = I₂ × 6

I₂ = 36.67A

★ Current flow in 9Ω resistor :

➠ V = I₃ × R₃

➠ 220 = I₃ × 9

I₃ = 24.44A
