Resistor = 138.56 Ohm

Given:

Three similar resistors are connected in star across 400 V, 3-phase lines.

The line current is 5 A.

To find:

The value of each resistor.

Formula used:

Line voltage in star connection =  × Phase voltage

Ohms law    V = IR

Where R = resistor

Explanation:

Given that,

Phase voltage = 400 V

Line voltage in star connection =  × Phase voltage

Line voltage in star connection =  × 400

Line voltage in star connection = 692.82 V

From Ohms law

     V = IR

  692.82 = 5 × R

Resistor = 138.56 Ohm
