Equivalent resistance= 6+2+x

= 8+x
Now by ohm's law
V= iR
1.5= 1/6× 8+x

9= 8+x
x= 1 Ans

Hope it helps

Total resistance = 6 + 2 + X

   = 8 + X

By ohms law

V = IR

 1.5= 1/6 x 8 + X

1.5 = 1/3 x 4 + X

1.5 = 4/3 + X

X = 1.5 - 4/3

 Converting 1.5 into fraction form (3/2)

X = 3/2 - 4/3

 Taking LCM (6)

X = 9/6 - 8/6

X = 9-8/6

 X = 1/6 is the answer
