240=2×2×2×2×3×5

336=2×2×2×2×3×7

HCF=2×2×2×2×3=48

================================

No. of stacks of English books :
=96/48

In order to arrange the books , we must find the HCF of 96, 240 & 336.
By doing the prime factorisation of the above numbers we get,
96=2×2×2×2×2×3
96=2^5×3

240=2^4×3×5

336=2^4×3×7

HCF (96,240&336)=2^4×3=48
So there must be 48 books in each.

Now,
Number of stacks in English books
=96/48
=2
Number of stacks in Hindi books
=240/48
=5
Number of stacks in maths books
=336/48
=7
