so work done by 3 machines in 60 minutes = W ( complete work)

=> work done  by 1 machine in 60 minutes = \frac{W}{3}

=> work done  by 1 machine in 1 minutes = \frac{W}{3*60}=\frac{W}{180}

so work done by 5 machines in 1 minute = \frac{w}{180}  * 5 = \frac{w}{36}

so number of minutes taken by 5 machines to do complete work = Complete work divided by work done by 5 machines in 1 minute = \frac{W}{\frac{W}{36} } = 36 minutes

So 5 machine of the same capacity will take 36 minutes to do same job of painting .
