Three shopkeepers Ram Lal, Shyam Lal, and Ghansham are using polythene bags, handmade bags (prepared by prisoners), and newspaper's envelope as carry bags. It is found that the shopkeepers Ram Lal, Shyam Lal, and Ghansham are using (20,30,40), (30,40,20), and (40,20,30) polythene bags, handmade bags, and newspapers envelopes respectively. The shopkeepers Ram Lal, Shyam Lal, and Ghansham spent ₹250, ₹270, and ₹200 on these carry bags respectively.

Solution:

Cost of polythene bags, handmade bags, and newspapers envelopes respectively x , y  and z  rs

(20,30,40), (30,40,20), and (40,20,30) and corresponding cost  ₹250, ₹270, and ₹200

20x + 30y  + 40z  = 250  => 2x + 3y + 4z = 25

30x + 40y  + 20z  = 270  => 3x + 4y + 2z = 27

40x + 20y  +30z  = 200  =>  4x + 2y + 3z = 20

Adding all  3 Equations:

9x + 9y + 9z  = 72

=> x + y + z = 8

=> 2x + 2y + 2z = 16

2x + 3y + 4z = 25

2x + 2y + 2z = 16

=> y + 2z  = 9

3x + 4y + 2z = 27

3x + 3y + 3z  = 24

=> y - z  = 3

y + 2z  = 9

y - z  = 3

=> 3z = 6

=>  z = 2

=> y = 5

x + y + z = 8

=> x = 1

x = 1 , y = 5 , z = 2

Cost of polythene bags, handmade bags, and newspapers envelopes

respectively are Rs  1,  5  and 2
